Baby Shower

My husband's family is from Indiana and this last week we were able to visit them and had a baby shower as well! It was so nice to be able to meet his relatives and to relax.

This is Lake Michigan. I was amazed that a lake could look like an ocean.

Trying White Castle for the first time.

The baby shower was nautical themed and was beautiful!

His aunt added the "mom" and "dad" letters to the hats. I thought it was a cute addition. Also, I am realizing that I am quite un-photogenic, but alas, I wanted to share the pictures anyway!

This little food cutter here is something that I saw my mom use a lot growing up. I was so excited when I found one in the store and was even more excited when I opened it! I think it will be put to good use.

I thought this was such a neat thing. The clothes were all pinned on the line!

30 Weeks

I am now 30 weeks pregnant! Woohoo! Ten more weeks to go. The baby has now decided that his behind belongs in my ribs and wiggles around a lot! My grandma passed away this last week and there was a funeral service for her today. It was very nice and was great to spend time with family. There was a get together after the funeral at my grandparent's house and I love their yard. It is big and beautiful!

It was an overcast-y day. Makes the lighting to pretty.

Belly picture. I am amazed at how much I am growing.

My Week in Pictures

This is my last week in Instagram pictures. I am feeling quite vain having my face smack dab in the middle, but that is okay.
Top left: Girl Scout Cookies. Yummy! Luckily I have not eaten too many yet.
Top Right: My Valentine's Day gift. Unfortunately the plant is not quite dead. :[ Still have my black thumb.
Bottom Left: My garden box! We have had great weather lately so my husband put together this box for the garden this summer.
Bottom Right: 28 week belly in the bathroom. Quite classy.

Sew For Victory

I had seen this sewing challenge a few weeks back, but figured that I did not feel like trying to alter patterns and make a big mess and try to get something to work for my ever changing figure. Then yesterday I came across this on Va-Voom Vintage's blog and thought I could try it out for myself. I purchased the pattern yesterday. Luckily there was a Butterick sale going on. Now I just need some fabric and I can get this going!

Bountiful Baskets Prelude

I am trying to get better at cooking food, and by cooking I mean not just heating something up in the microwave. I was going gung-ho with menu planning until I got pregnant...and sick...and the thought of the kitchen made me nauseous. I have been trying again, now that I am not sick, to menu plan and make meals again. I cannot say I really enjoy the process, but it is growing on me. This last week both my husband and I were home at the same time for dinner one night! I decided that would be the day to fire up the grill and make some kabobs! We used pieces from our Bountiful Basket-pineapple, onion and green peppers- and some mushrooms because we love them and chicken that had been marinated in a little marinade packet mix. This was served over some brown rice and we both liked it! Success!

All pictures were taken by my husband!

24 Weeks

I got this dress last month for a black and white themed event. It is not a maternity dress. I went to the maternity store and didn't find anything I liked! I am still in an awkward in between stage, which I have decided I am glad about because that means I can wear normal clothes...minus jeans, they are just too tight.

Some little side notes-I have so many pictures, that I think they make up for all my words this time!

*I have been having problems for a while with my eyeliner smudging onto my eye creases. I just bought some new eyeliner (Almay) and am hoping that it solves the problem

*Have you heard of Bountiful Baskets? It is a really neat thing and I will probably post about it here very soon. I got my first one almost 2 weeks ago and am getting another this Saturday.

*I just found this dress from Sense and Sensibility patterns. I am trying to decide if my belly will fit underneath it or if I should just wait until after baby.
