Where'd ya go?

Well, today I realized that it has been much too long since my last post! :[
I guess that school has just sucked the life out of me, yet again! And I don't have internet at my house. That may be part of it, too! But anywho, I will try to get a "real" post up here in
the next week!

Choppity Chop

I got my hair cut! Neither of these pictures really shows it, but I got about three inches cut off, just in time for the summer! Okay, a little late....But I am excited to try some wet sets. I used hot rollers this morning, and I liked the result, but I really want to try my perming rods!
Before.(P.S. This is the view from my backyard!)
After.

Independence Day

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

This scarf was one that I got at the garage sale! Perfect red, white and blue!

From the lab bench to the garage sale...

There's nothing quite like a slightly creepy picture to grab your attention!

Last Thursday was the last day of my summer lab program. Even though it was a lot of work, I had a BLAST! The teachers were awesome, my lab group was awesome, and everyone else in the class was awesome!

I made these little double helix pictures for my teachers! Super easy and fun!

This is my lab group in front of our poster on isolating and sequencing the GAPDH gene in radish root!

This weekend I also did a little garage saling with a friend of mine! I found a TON of vintage scarves and other little things. All this in the picture only cost me $3! Wow! I about cried I was so happy!

Doilies, baby things, and scarves. Oh my!
