My first completed sewing project of 2012! I used the Butterick 5209 pattern. It is part of the Butterick retro patterns. Overall the pattern was not too hard to follow. It was the first time that I did a lining and for the first time it turned out okay, I think. I do really like the dress and it fits quite well. Unfortunately I am not the best picture taker, hence the low quality shots. Oh well! I really like the fabric I used, though I have no idea what kind it is! Some slinky soft stuff....
I am trying to complete one sewn garment a month this year. I think that is a pretty achievable goal for me. For January I made this here dress, but I have not taken pictures of just the dress yet, so until then here's a little sneak peak of it!
So there's a hair video that seems to have gone viral on the blogs that I follow. I saw post after post reviewing it, so I thought I would go out and spend a whopping $12 and test it out myself. I love the little lift right in front that I was able to get, something that I have a really hard time getting my hair to do. I also had a slightly smaller curling iron. I tried it again with a larger one, but forgot my hairspray, so I will have to try it again to decide if I like it or not with that iron.
Here's the video. It's the John Frieda Retro Curls video.
Here it is all pinned up. I used 12 of the clips and two bobby pins. So I guess14 curls.
My beau loves airplanes. I mean, he really loves them. Before he left we went on a glider ride, and it was great! So for our Birthdays-we are just one day less than a year apart-we went on a glider again! Like the last time, it was really fun. There's something great about being way up high squished next to someone you love.
